Nick Saban: Alabama players consider Tennessee bigger game than Iron Bowl

Alabama coach Nick Saban and Auburn coach Gus Malzahn shake hands following the Crimson Tide's win over the Tigers in 2015.

Apparently memories of Kick Six are fading in the Alabama football locker room. Cam Newton, who’s he?

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said Thursday night on his radio show that his players look forward to their games against Tennessee more than those against in-state foe Auburn. Could the Tide’s game Oct. 15 against Tennessee actually mean more to them than the Nov. 26 Iron Bowl?

Alabama has won four of the past five Iron Bowl matchups, the lone loss coming in 2013 on Chris Davis’ missed field-goal return on the game’s final play. Alabama also plays Tennessee every season and has not lost to the Volunteers under Saban, a span of nine games.
