Norma Bauerschmidt, the Michigan woman who declined cancer treatment to spend her final days traveling in an RV, died Friday morning at 91.

She spent her final moments in a bed inside the 36-foot motor home, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Bauerschmidt, along with her son, his wife and a poodle named Ringo, departed in the RV on Aug. 24, 2015, and began documenting their travels across the country on the Facebook page titled "Driving Miss Norma," which gathered nearly 460,000 followers.

Bauerschmidt's journey led her as far as San Juan Island in Washington.

On Friday, a post appeared on the page quoting the 13th-century poet, Rumi: “Life is a balance between holding on and letting go."

“Today we are letting go," the post said.

Bauerschmidt was diagnosed with uterine cancer in July 2015 — two days after the death of her husband of 67 years, Leo, the Post-Gazette noted.

She will be cremated and buried next to Leo in Michigan.
