Dwyane Wade bowed head and took a knee for first pregame intro with the Bulls

Dwyane Wade played his first regular season game with the Chicago Bulls in their opener vs. the Boston Celtics on Thursday, and it appeared to be an emotional start for the vet who spent 13 years on the Miami Heat.

While he was announced, Wade got down on one knee and bowed his head, and he waited for a few seconds before getting up to high five his teammates. The 34-year-old guard said multiple times after signing with the Bulls in the offseason that his Chicago homecoming is about much more than just basketball.

Additionally, before the game, Jimmy Butler addressed the fans.

The Bulls are also playing special videos for Wade throughout the game.

As for on-court performance, Wade made three 3-pointers in the first half alone after only making seven all of last season, so that seems good. This is one of them.

But it’ll probably take many fans across the league more than one game to get used to seeing Wade in that Bulls jersey.
