Sacramento Kings coach George Karl will undergo a cancer-related procedure on Thursday, according to the Sacramento Bee.

"I'm having a procedure for a cancer in my throat," he said after Wednesday night's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Bee also reported that the procedure isn't serious, but that Kings general manager Vlade Divac told him to "take as much times as he needs."

Karl, a survivor of prostate cancer in 2005 and head and neck cancer in 2010, is in his second season with the Kings, and currently sits in fifth place on the NBA's all-time winningest coaches list with 1,167 victories and counting.

Their next game is at home against the Orlando Magic on Friday night, and it is not yet known if Karl will be able to attend.
