Adrian Peterson's injury revealed a big design flaw in the Vikings' new stadium

The Minnesota Vikings’ stunning U.S. Bank Stadium made its regular season debut on Sunday Night Football. And, wow, it’s an impressive facility.

From the views of the skyline, to the glass roof, to all the features intended to enhance the fan experience, it’s pretty cool! But when Adrian Peterson went down with a knee injury in the third quarter, a strange flaw of the stadium was exposed to a national audience:

The route to the locker room.

Peterson had to be carried through some sort of sports bar or restaurant after suffering his injury with fans watching like it was part of the stadium experience. It wasn’t a straight shot, either. He had to make turns around a corner. One would think that there had to be a more direct route to the locker room. There has to be.

U.S. Bank Stadium isn’t the first stadium to have the entrance through a bar or club level, but it just seemed odd to watch an injured player have to make turns and maneuver his way to the locker room in that setting.

Perhaps this was just a part of being in a new facility, and they’ll figure out a better route to the locker room. But for now, it’s probably something to look into as injuries will inevitably happen — and some will require the cart.
