Olympic visitors turned Rio airport’s message wall into a giant apology for Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte made it out of Rio before his passport could be seized, but he’ll forever have a place at the Rio airport.

The Rio Olympics come to an end on Sunday, which means that Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport is going to be packed with thousands of travelers returning home.

As a sort of keepsake for the Rio Olympics, the airport has a giant marker wall where visitors can write a message about the Olympics or their time in Rio. If done correctly, that’s a pretty neat crowdsourcing idea. People from all over the world are passing through Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport. I’m sure they all have unique things to say.

Oh.

Journalists passing through the Rio airport noticed that the wall seemed to be dominated by the message, “Sorry about Ryan Lochte.”

That summed up the Olympics quite perfectly.
