A blabby Groot spills that Guardians will be in next 'Avengers' movie

Disney might be wishing Vin Diesel had stuck to saying "I am Groot" during a Facebook Live chat on Friday.

During the video, the gravelly-voiced Guardians of the Galaxy star let slip that the characters will join the Avengers in the upcoming third film called Infinity War. Disney did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Associated Press.

Groot's gang, which also includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper, aren't the only new members of the Avengers in Infinity War — the film is expected to include Marvel characters from 18 different films.

Diesel reminded fans of a 2013 Facebook photo he'd posted after his first meeting with Marvel in which he posed in front of an Avengers poster from the late 1960s. "What's surreal is that picture is going to come to pass," he teased in 2013, "because the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that's incredibly exciting."

A new Guardians movie is due May 5 while Infinity War will arrive the same weekend the following year.
