Clinton releases new ad focused on helping working families

Hillary Clinton released a new ad Friday touting her plan to provide economic relief to working families.

The ad, titled “For Those Who Depend on Us," will air in the six battleground states of Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada and Ohio. Clinton is ahead of Donald Trump in all of those states in recent polling, but her lead in most of them is small or even within the margin of error.

"We go to work because others depend on us," the ad's narrator says. "Hillary Clinton gets it. Standing up for families and children has been her life’s work. Under her plan, working parents get relief from the cost of childcare and a path to debt-free college. Equal pay for women and paid time off to care for family. Building an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. Because we’re stronger together."

The campaign said in a statement that the 30-second ad "provides a snapshot of Clinton's agenda for a new economic future for working families, including Latino families."

Clinton’s ad with a specific focus on Latino families comes the same day that Donald Trump launched his first general election ad in battleground states. His ad focused on immigration and said Clinton would allow a "flood" of Syrian refugees into the country and would allow immigrants who have committed crimes to stay in the U.S. Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon denounced Trump's ad as "demonizing immigrants again."
