Jim Harbaugh brought serious heat for his Cubs first pitch

It should come as a surprise to no one that Jim Harbaugh takes his ceremonial first pitches very seriously.

The Chicago Cubs welcomed the Michigan head coach to Wrigley Field on Wednesday for their game against the White Sox. Harbaugh was wearing a personalized Cubs jersey — tucked into khakis, of course — and brought his glove to the ballpark for the pitch.

For Harbaugh, a poor first pitch would have been massive blow to his reputation as America’s coolest football coach (Note: I know that’s not an official designation). Well, he made sure he lived up to his famous Tigers first pitch with a session of long toss before the game.

And yes, Harbaugh is wearing baseball cleats for a FIRST PITCH. Who does that? Harbaugh, that’s who.

The pitch lived up to the hype.

It was so good that there was an audible “whoa” from young fan who filmed the toss. Harbaugh’s pitches are that good.

And a view from the field.

Harbaugh does first pitches better than any football coach in the nation. That cannot be argued.
