Noah Syndergaard denies responsibility for lightning strike at Empire State Building

Every so often in the midst of the Northeast’s crushing summers, the sky gets about as fed up as everyone else about the unbearable humidity and comes out with a triumphant thunderstorm that cools everything down to the point that it is tolerable to be outside for about a half-hour window — right after it stops raining and before it gets too muggy again.

One such instance of this phenomenon happened on Monday in New York City, and after photographers caught spectacular images of lightning striking the side of the Empire State Building, Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard — nicknamed “Thor” — denied responsibility for the strike:

Syndergaard is dope on social media and also at pitching. He starts the first game of a double-header against the Cardinals on Tuesday.
