It's a pop star TV takeover.

Rihanna is heading to 'Bates Motel.'

Lady Gaga won a Golden Globe earlier this year for her performance as The Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel. Could Rihanna be next?

It was announced Friday at Comic-Con that Rihanna is heading to A&E's Bates Motel for the show's fifth and final season. Rihanna will play the iconic role of Marion Crane, formerly played by Janet Leigh in 1960.

"We wanted to thrust the iconic role into a contemporary spotlight and redefine it in a meaningful and exciting new way.  We also heard Rihanna was a fan of the show, and we were huge fans of hers, so it was the perfect collision of creativity and fate," said executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin in a statement.

Rihanna, who is currently in Europe on her Anti World Tour, will also appear as a sexy space dancer in the upcoming sci-fi film, Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets (due next summer), opposite Ethan Hawke, Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan.

Rihanna glimpse in 'Valerian' wows Comic-Con crowd

Director Luc Besson debuted a bit of footage of Valerian at Comic-Con on Thursday. "Rihanna’s part is so crazy, it’s so awesome," DeHaan teased. "I worked with her the first two weeks of the shoot and whenever I told anybody what I was going to be doing, their jaws were on the floor and they were so jealous. And that’s all I can say."

Bates Motel, a prequel series to Psycho, will begin production this fall in Vancouver and returns in 2017 on A&E.
