Dwayne Johnson says Lin-Manuel Miranda is a lyrical 'assassin'

Dwayne Johnson + Lin-Manuel Miranda = WIN.

Dwayne Johnson sang a country tune in Be Cool, serenaded thousands of fans in a WWE ring, covered Taylor Swift on Ballers, has been known to do some Louis Armstrong by the campfire, and broke out Christmas tunes for his baby daughter. So the guy's got skills.

But "The Rock" is taking it to the next level with his new Disney animated movie Moana — in which he voices a trickster demigod with storytelling tattoos — that teams him with songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda for a tune.

Yes, that Lin-Manuel Miranda.

While we all patiently wait to hear what the Rock's cookin' with the Hamilton creator, Johnson told us it's been "a real true pleasure" working alongside Miranda.

"He's a masterful artist who created this cool platform for me to express my character's bold sentiment through a song," Johnson explains. "I've sung before in some films I've made in the past and grew up in a musical family — I play guitar, etc. — but singing and rapping a Lin-Manuel Miranda creation is above and beyond anything I've experienced.

"His writing style is extremely unique and pushes boundaries of rhythm and flow. He's an assassin with lyrical wordplay which is why his music is so dope and complex. (It's been) an honor to collaborate with him. And what makes it an honor is because he's one of the good guys. Very gracious and humble with his success which tells me everything I need to know."

A great man once said: "JUST BRING IT."
