Messy lawn lands her in jail: Craziest crimes of the week

• Single mom thrown in jail for overgrown lawn : An Illinois woman with five kids was arrested July 7 and briefly thrown in jail for an offense that the town of Cahokia obviously feels strongly about: not mowing her lawn. Single mom Ebony Conner says she was verbally warned by a municipal code-enforcement officer back in June and also told to get rid of garbage and broken-down cars from her driveway — but she thought she had more time to fix things, and she definitely didn't think she'd be hauled off to jail.
• Man uses stolen brain to get high: Joshua Lee Long's aunt was probably freaked out when she found the human brain in a Walmart bag while she was cleaning out a trailer near Newville, Pa. Chances are she was horrified when Long, in custody on burglary charges, allegedly told her what he did with it. During a call from prison, Long reportedly told his aunt that, yes, the brain was his, and he used it to get high. Here's how.

• Driver Pokemon-Goes right into police car, cops say:  Even a Legendary may not be able to get a young man from Baltimore out of trouble after his SUV ran into a police car early Monday while he was allegedly playing Pokemon Go. Body-camera video was released that shows a Toyota RAV4 slam into the cop car with several officers standing around it, then drive away, with an officer in pursuit on foot. The car finally comes to a stop at the end of the block, and when the officer asks if everyone in the car is OK, the driver reportedly utters this somewhat incriminating comment.
• Flight crew narcs on allegedly drunk pilots: Two allegedly drunk Canadian pilots were arrested Monday at Scotland's Glasgow Airport just before taking to the skies with hundreds of passengers aboard. The flight crew noticed there was something off about the pilots and went to authorities. "We saw five policemen get onto the plane and we thought, 'There's a problem,'" one passenger says. It's a problem for the two 30-something pilots, who are now looking at these sentences if convicted.
• Accessorized fake passenger doesn't fool carpool cops: Her supposed passenger was nicely accessorized, but that wasn't enough to keep a Long Island woman from getting a ticket for a carpool lane violation. Police in Suffolk County say Candice Breen-Warren, 61, arranged a bunch of clothes in the passenger seat, adorned with these items, to make it look like she had someone sitting next to her.
