The Montreal Alouettes’ Duron Carter was very excited about his third quarter touchdown against Ottawa on Thursday, but his night didn’t last much longer.
After hauling in touchdown pass, Carter took his celebration over to the Ottawa bench and knocked over a coach on the sideline. That obviously didn’t go over well with the Redblacks players who all converged on Carter wanting to fight.
Here’s a look at what happened:
Carter ran about 20 yards straight to the opposing bench, which is a terrible idea unless you like fighting. But knocking over the coach doesn’t make much sense either. The Alouettes were also losing, so it wasn’t even the right time to boast.
The officials ejected Carter for instigating the skirmish.
Duron is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Cris Carter. He has played on-and-off for Montreal since 2013. He had a brief stint with the Colts in 2015 as a practice squad player and returned to Montreal in 2016.
