Coastal Carolina’s only MLB player excitedly celebrated the CWS win during Rays practice

The Rays’ Taylor Motter is the only Coastal Carolina product on an active MLB roster, so there was no way he’d miss the Chanticleers’ deciding College World Series Game 3 against Arizona.

Coastal Carolina would go on to win the title, holding off Arizona’s rally in the ninth inning. That ninth inning turned Motter into a nervous wreck. Arizona had the tying and winning runs in scoring position with two outs.

Motter could hardly watch the videoboard at Tropicana Field, which conveniently showed the game. Motter probably managed to steal the remote and overrule Evan Longoria’s Poland-Portugal Euro 2016 request.

The moment Coastal Carolina’s Alex Cunningham struck out Ryan Haug, Motter went nuts. He pulled off his sweatshirt to reveal a teal CCU T-shirt.

It’s also important to note that Motter has phenomenal hair. Now, his school is a national champion. Are the two related? I’m inclined to say yes.
