SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Police say a man stole an AR-15 rifle from a Springfield home and then sold the gun for $200 cash and a quarter-pound of marijuana.

Isaac Hannah

Isaac Hannah, 20, was charged with theft of a firearm after police say he admitted to taking the rifle and two 30-round magazines and wrapping them up in a blanket.

According to a probable cause statement, the victim in this case let a woman stay with him at his south Springfield residence on May 9.

AR-15 becomes a popular door prize in Tenn.

The victim left the home for a couple of hours the next day. And when he returned home, the woman — in addition to his AR-15 rifle and $500 cash — was gone.

Two weeks later, police contacted Hannah — who is friends with the woman — and he allegedly admitted to going to the home on May 10, taking the rifle and ammo and later selling the gun for cash and pot.

Springfield Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Cox said Monday the stolen rifle has not yet been recovered.

Hannah is being held in the Greene County Jail on $5,000 bond. He does not have an attorney listed for this case.
