Instagram goes rainbow for Pride

As millions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people gather with their supporters, family and friends for massive Pride marches in cities across the country, Instagram is lighting up with rainbow images of celebrations, memorials and ceremonies.

New Hampshire, Oregon, Connecticut, Arizona and California have the highest rate of Pride-related posts, followed by Vermont, Washington state, Florida, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.

Instagram is also asking users to post photos from Pride events for their Weekend Hashtag Project, using #WHP🌈. "The rainbow is a key symbol of the LGBTQ community," Instagram posted. "Look for rainbows in your surroundings or create your own."

Here's a look at some of the top posts from around the world.

In many countries around the world, June is Pride Month, and for the second year running, Instagram is asking people to post photos and videos of people celebrating diversity, love and the LGBTQ community.
