The music is coming to an end for Nashville.

ABC is canceling the primetime soap, which stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, after four seasons.

The network is making pickup, renewal and cancellation decisions as it puts together its 2016-17 schedule. That will be presented to advertisers next week in New York.

Also on Thursday, Panettiere announced she is taking time off to manage her postpartum depression, which began after she gave birth to daughter Kaya Evdokiain (with boxer fiancé Wladimir Klitschkoin) in December 2014. She first sought treatment in a rehab clinic in October 2015.

“The postpartum depression I have been experiencing has impacted every aspect of my life,” the Nashville star tweeted Thursday. “Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!”

ABC adds Shondaland, Hayley Atwell dramas

Nashville wasn't the only show getting bad news, as the network has decided against a ninth season for Castle.

Other shows had a better day Thursday, as ABC renewed limited-series American Crime for a third season and will bring back Shonda Rhimes-produced The Catch for Season 2.
