Shaq made up a retirement dance for Kobe Bryant

In August, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal declared their long-running feud to be done. “I was young, you was young,” O’Neal told his former teammate on an episode of his podcast. “But then as I look at it, we won three [championships] out of four so I don’t really think a lot was done wrong. So I just wanted to clear the air and let everybody know that, no, I don’t hate you. We had a lot of disagreements, we had a lot of arguments. But I think it fueled us both.”

Bryant agreed, and the two seemed to be fine. Which has been especially great for O’Neal’s Twitter account following the days that Bryant announced he was calling it quits at the end of the 2015-16 season.

There’s a lot that had to change for the two to get to this point. Bryant, in recent years has been far more mellow and open, at least publicly. And in O’Neal’s latest career incarnation as a spokesperson for anyone who will pay him (and we say that in the nice way, I mean who wouldn’t take free money?) and TV analyst, it’s hard to imagine him really disliking anyone or vice versa.

Except perhaps Charles Barkley at times.
