Chewbacca masks selling fast after video

Star Wars' Chewbacca masks are flying off retailers' shelves after a woman in Texas posted a live video on her Facebook account wearing one and laughing hysterically, CNBC reports.

In the video, Candace Payne, who lives near Dallas, can be seen unpacking the mask, a gift to herself for her birthday, in her car and trying it on. Chewbacca's battery-powered roar moves her to giggle uncontrollably, and the video has been viewed more than 130 million times since she posted it Thursday. The product, released by Hasbro, is a merchandise item tied to the Walt Disney Co.'s 2015 blockbuster, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

As of Sunday afternoon, the mask, which retails for about $20 to $40, was sold out on Walmart.com, Kohls.com and Target.com.

"We have received an overwhelming amount of interest in the Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens Chewbacca Electronic Mask by Hasbro since Candace posted her funny and lighthearted video," a Kohl's spokeswoman told CNBC.

You can still buy one on Amazon.com from private sellers for about $150.
