Kevin Smith's daughter reveals she was 'almost kidnapped'

Director Kevin Smith's daughter is opening up about a scary experience she had while doing something a lot of people do: waiting for an Uber

Harley Quinn Smith, 16, took to her Instagram this week to tell the story of being "almost kidnapped" while she was waiting to be picked up by a driver from the ride-sharing app, two men pulled up in a "large, beige" car and tried to convince her it was the Uber she was waiting for.

"There were two white men (age 20-30) in the driver (blonde hair) and passenger (brown hair) seat with an uber sign on their front window, but they were most definitely not uber drivers," she wrote. "When I asked who they were there to pick up, making sure it was the right car, they wouldn't answer me and said to get in the car. They didn't have the uber app on their phone and were clearly just two disgusting dudes trying to kidnap a girl standing on her own."

Smith explained that she was in "too much of a haze" to take a picture of the drivers or the car's license plate, but she did report the incident to the police. She also issued a warning to other young women and told them to look out for themselves.

"Protect yourself and never ever get in a car without checking that it's the correct car first!!!" she said. "If you see a car like this PLEASE report it to the police and stop them from trying to pray (sic) on other young girls!!! We have already reported it to the police, but more information would be helpful in finding them. Be careful and look out for yourself/others!!!!"

Smith later posted that her father made her a "sorry men suck" cake to cheer her up after the ordeal.

Earlier this week Kevin Smith revealed another gift he gave to his daughter, the bat that Harley Quinn the character in Suicide Squad (played by Margot Robbie) used in the making of the movie (Harley Quinn is named after this character from Batman comics). She also stars in her father's latest film, Yoga Hosers, which premiered this January at the Sundance Film Festival.
