Looking for a good movie this weekend? Here are the latest releases, trailers and reviews from USA TODAY.

'Black Sea'

The submarine thriller doesn't delve too far below the surface, but it is claustrophobic, compelling and suspenseful. The action-adventure offers some credible twists and turns, and an outstanding performance from Jude Law as Robinson, a rogue submarine captain who assembles a crew of misfits to retrieve treasure believed to be lost on the floor of the Black Sea. 'Black or White'

If only Black or White spent more time in the gray zone. While the family drama features strong performances by Octavia Spencer and Kevin Costner, things seem over-simplified in this tale of a wealthy white lawyer fighting for custody of his 7-year-old biracial granddaughter. (** out of four stars)

'Project Almanac'

It's tough to tell what's shakier here: the illogical premise or the nausea-inducing camera work. And how about a moratorium on the found-footage genre? What was once fresh and innovative now is tired and overdone. Leave it to high schoolers to use time-travel to attend Lollapalooza or improve their test scores rather than do something more substantial. (* ½ out of four stars)

'The Loft'

Five men share a penthouse apartment in order to carry on extramarital affairs. It is a dream come true for them, until a dead body is discovered.
