The Portland Trail Blazers and the San Antonio Spurs were locked in an epic war of attrition on Friday night. Before the game went to its third (third!) overtime, the Blazers had possession with just seconds left in the period.
Chandler Parsons, who must’ve been watching somewhere, experienced some unwelcome flashbacks to last year’s Western Conference Playoffs when Damian Lillard drained an absolute dagger of a three that sent the Rockets packing. It was also right in Parsons’ eye.
Parsons wasn’t wrong. Damian Lillard had an absolutely ridiculous outing. He scored a career-high 43 points, and was absolutely unconscious from the field, doing stuff like this:
It was neck-at-neck for all of regulation and the first two overtimes, but the Blazers pulled away and beat the Spurs, 129-119.
