Wild's Charlie Coyle scores on breakaway - from behind the goal line

The standard formula for a hockey breakaway: Drive straight for the net, make a move to try to fool the goalie, shoot and, hopefully, score.

Not Minnesota’s Charlie Coyle.

The Wild forward had Edmonton Oilers converging on him from all directions after he picked up a loose puck along the boards, so he started to go behind the net. At the last second, while behind the goal line, he pulled the puck back and tucked it gently past goalie Viktor Fasth for the winning goal.

An amazing display of hands there.

Definitely fooled the goalie – and everyone else on the ice – on that one.
