A's slugger gets playoffs started with first-inning homer in Wild Card game

Oakland A’s slugger Brandon Moss fell into a miserable slump over the final two months of the 2014 regular season, struggling with a hip injury and batting .162 with a .575 OPS in August and September. But Moss didn’t wait long to heat up in the postseason, smashing a first-inning pitch from James Shields into the right-field stands at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City:

The blast scored baserunner Coco Crisp from first and gave the A’s an early 2-0 lead in the Wild Card game. The winner will travel to Anaheim to face the Angels in an ALDS series that starts Thursday.
