Former North Carolina Tar Heels coach Dean Smith, who passed away in February at the age of 83, set up a trust to send $200 to every lettermen who played under him at UNC.

A letter from an accounting firm to former Tar Heel Dante Calabria, accompanied with a $200 check, started making the rounds online on Thursday. Tim Breedlove, the accountant who wrote the letter, verified it as real in a phone call with For The Win.

Breedlove said that checks were mailed out to approximately 180 of Smith’s former players on Monday, though he was still trying to track down some addresses.

The letter came along with a note from Coach Smith to all his players, asking them to “enjoy a dinner out” with the money.
