Cowboys' DeMarco Murray active against Colts, but T.Y. Hilton out

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys will have DeMarco Murray in the starting lineup Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts afternoon as they try to clinch the NFC East and their first postseason berth since 2009.

Murray, the NFL's rushing leader, underwent surgery to fix a broken bone in his left hand six days ago and was only able to do a limited about of work in practice on Thursday and Friday. He will wear protective padding under a glove on his left hand and will likely have his role reduced. Backups Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar should see more work to spell Murray, who has a league-high 351 rushing attempts this season.

The Cowboys' playoff hopes got a boost when the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Washington Redskins on Saturday. The Cowboys' only clinching scenario for Week 16 included a win against the Colts and an Eagles' loss.

The Colts, meanwhile, will be without No. 1 receiver T.Y. Hilton, who was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
