Celebs react to Sony pulling 'The Interview'

The Interview will not be coming to a theater near you.

Sony has canceled the planned Christmas Day release of the Seth Rogen and James Franco-starring film, after hackers threatened a "9/11"-style attack on theaters that showed it. Sony's announcement came after five major theater chains in the U.S. said they would not screen the film.

Sony's announcement lit up Twitter, where many celebrities -- many involved in the film industry themselves -- expressed strong reactions to the decision.

Rob Lowe, who makes an appearance in The Interview, expressed dismay that "Everyone caved."
