8-year-old with Down Syndrome scores touchdown in high school game

Gabe White, an 8-year-old boy with Down Syndrome, often cheers for his big brother and the Rhinelander High School football team. His dream, according to ABC 13, is to one day play on the team.

Last week, he got a taste of that dream a little early. In a heartwarming moment, White was named the team’s honorary captain in a matchup against Mosinee High School. And he even got a chance to score a touchdown — while the Mosinee players, in a great show of sportsmanship, made a convincing show of attempted tackles.
