ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (AP) — The PGA of America president referred to Ian Poulter as a "lil girl' for his criticism of the way Nick Faldo and Tom Watson captained their Ryder Cup teams.

Faldo was captain of the last European team that lost in 2008. Watson was captain of the American team that lost at Gleneagles last month. Poulter was critical of both in his book, "No Limits," which was released this week.

PGA President Ted Bishop directed a tweet at Poulter that said, "Faldo's record stands by itself. Six majors and all-time RC points. Yours vs. His? Lil Girl."

In a separate posting on his Facebook page, Bishop said for someone like Poulter to criticize two players of their stature made him sound "like a little school girl squealing during recess."
