Ohio State is currently a 9.5-point underdog against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, and most college football coaches don’t believe the Buckeyes have a shot to pull an upset and advance to the national championship game. ESPN’s Brett McMurphy polled 107 football bowl subdivision head coaches on the outcome of the inaugural College Football Playoff, and the majority predicted an Alabama-Oregon final.

Here are some of the interesting takeaways:

  • 90% of coaches picked Alabama over Ohio State
  • 69% of coaches believe the selection committee picked the best four teams.
  • More coaches picked Ohio State to win the national title than Florida State
