Browns' Johnny Manziel injures hamstring against Panthers

USA TODAY Sports
Browns QB Johnny Manziel left his second NFL start with an injured hamstring.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel left Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers and walked to the locker room late in the first half after taking a big hit from Panthers safety Colin Jones.

The injury occurred on a designed run around left end. Jones drilled Manziel, who tried to lower his shoulder as Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly also closed in.

The Browns announced Manziel was questionable to return with a hamstring injury.

Brian Hoyer, who was benched in favor of Manziel last week, took over with the Browns trailing 10-3 and 1:49 left in the second quarter.
