'Bad Judge,' 'A to Z' to end after short runs

The verdict is in: Kate Walsh's 'Bad Judge' is going to be out at NBC.

Bad Judge isn't getting clemency. A to Z is having its alphabet shortened.

That's the verdict at NBC, which will end both freshman comedies after completion of their initial, 13-episode orders. Judge, which stars Kate Walsh, has filmed 10 episodes, while romantic comedy A to Z has shot 11.

They will remain in their respective Thursday time slots, Judge at 9 p.m. ET/PT and A to Z at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. The Blacklist, now on Mondays, is scheduled to move to that hour in February.

The low-rated comedies performed poorly on Thursday, with Judge averaging 3.9 million viewers and A to Z just 2.5 million.

Their delayed cancellation comes on the heels of the fall season's first broadcast casualty, ABC's Manhattan Love Story.
