Boeing: No repeat for last year's mean-looking Seahawks 747

The Seattle Seahawks will be playing for rare back-to-back Super Bowl victories after advancing to the NFL title game with a thrilling overtime victory against Green Bay on Sunday.

But there will no be repeat for aviation enthusiasts hoping for Boeing to reprise the Seahawks-themed 747 it rolled out last January to celebrate the Seahawks' 2014 Super Bowl appearance.

Both aviation and Seahawks fans had rave reviews last year when Boeing painted one its iconic jumbo jets painted in the colors of the Seahawks. The jet flew test flights for Boeing, leading to great photo ops of the aircraft flying over downtown Seattle.

Boeing, of course, has a large presence in the Seattle area, which is home to most of the jetmaker's assembly lines. Among those is Boeing's 747 assembly line, located in nearby Everett.

Alas, that 747 no longer sports the Seahawks logo. As for this year's Seahawks' Super Bowl appearance, Boeing tells Today in the Sky it does not currently have any aircraft available to re-create last year's Seahawks livery.
