It’s “Best Friends” week on Wheel of Fortune, which means double the opportunity for contestants to get Pat Sajak to his breaking point. Watch as two sets of besties make horse-related guesses to a barely-there puzzle, culminating in the longtime host jokingly walking off the set and delivering a mock diatribe to the contestants.
The two gentlemen were half-serious, half-joking with their “RIDING A BROWN HORSE” guess. It fit the spaces, but was impossible because the “N” in “BROWN” would have been revealed too. When Trinette suggested “RIDING ON A WHITE HORSE” on her turn, it was a reasonable guess. I mean, what’d be worse, being embarrassed by guessing “RIDING ON A WHITE HORSE” or not saying anything and having the puzzle turn out to be “RIDING ON A WHITE HORSE?”
But kudos to Sajak for not snapping sooner. He’s spent 30 years dealing with people who spin when the board looks like this …
… buy a vowel when it looks like this …
… and call out “Regis Philbin and Belly Ripa.”
He’s due for a meltdown every now and then. Then again, when you get to witness fails such as this, it’s all worth it.
