Some NFL Rookies buy cars with their first paychecks. Some put down payments on housing.

Cleveland Browns’ backup quarterback Johnny Manziel bought himself a gold Rolex. He then put said Rolex on his Heisman trophy, took a picture, and posted it to his Instagram profile for stunting purposes.

The caption Manziel used was “Gifts for the boy.”

“The boy” is how rapper Drake narrowly avoids referring to himself in the third person by name multiple times on his newest album, Nothing Was The Same. The most notable use of this came on his single, “Worst Behavior” where Drake raps, “Always hated the boy, but now the boy is the man, [expletive] I done grown up.”

Two things. Firstly, Manziel is still a pretty far cry from the Browns starting job, so he’s not really the man. Secondly, flipping off the opposing bench on national prime time isn’t something a mature player does, so he hasn’t really grown up. Not yet, anyway.

That Rolex looks pretty flossy though.
