Thunder to send Hasheem Thabeet to Sixers

The Oklahoma City Thunder will send center Hasheem Thabeet and cash considerations to the Philadelphia 76ers so that they will absorb his contract, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.

The Sixers are expected to waive Thabeet, while the Thunder will gain a trade exception worth $1.25 million in the deal.

The 7-3 center has been in the league for five seasons, never playing all 82 games and never starting more than 13 games in a season. He has a career average of 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds.
