LOS ANGELES — Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook broke his right hand Thursday, coach Scott Brooks said after the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Westbrook, hurt during the middle of the second quarter of the 93-90 loss, has a small fracture in his second metacarpal. No timetable on a return was available Thursday night.

"We'll know more tomorrow," Brooks said. "We have to figure it out together."

The Thunder already are without fellow superstar Kevin Durant, likely until December, and guards Reggie Jackson, Anthony Morrow and Jeremy Lamb for now because of injuries. The loss of Westbrook leaves their backcourt very thin.

Sebastian Telfair, the former high school phenom who played in China last season, is the only healthy traditional guard on the Thunder's roster. He played 38 minutes Thursday, finishing with 11 points and seven assists.

Westbrook played only nine minutes Thursday, finishing with two points and four assists. He had 38 points, six assists and three steals Wednesday in a season-opening loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Thunder may be able to add player via the NBA's "hardship exception" soon after being rejected earlier this season. To qualify, they need to have four players miss three-plus games because of injuries.

Morrow is expected to miss most of November with a sprained knee ligament, according to an ESPN.com report. Rookie center Mitch McGary is out with a broken left foot, and big man Grant Jerrett had ankle surgery and could be out until December. Those three, plus Durant, who has a Jones fracture in his foot, should qualify the Thunder even if Lamb and Jackson can return.
