Ice volcanoes and an orange tornado

An "ice volcano" near Green Bay.

Yes, we have all the fun here in the weather department. From the Polar Vortex to the Pineapple Express and muck fires to drunken forests , the craziness never stops.

Today, we've got a video of an "ice volcano" near Green Bay and an orange tornado in Oklahoma.

The ice volcano video was shot recently by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The folks in the video also call it a snow-cano, but here's how it was described on their Facebook page:

"These are called ice volcanoes. A shell of ice forms and a weak spot is exploited by the wave action, creating a hole. Then, a volcano-like structure forms around the hole from the water being sprayed from the top."

Meanwhile, in Oklahoma on Sunday, a weak EF-0 tornado spun harmlessly across the prairie bathed in a golden, orange afternoon light.

The man in the video says he can "smell" the tornado, something I haven't heard described before. We also get to hear the calm voice of what sounds like a NOAA weather radio.

It's one of only 16 tornadoes in Oklahoma so far this year, the Capital Weather Gang reports. 2014 is one of the quietest years for tornadoes in Oklahoma on record.
