Kyle Busch's wife shares intimate details of pregnancy

Kyle and Samantha Busch are expecting their first child - conceived via IVF - in May.

The wife of NASCAR driver Kyle Busch has been opening up about the couple's battle with infertility in a series of extremely personal, detailed blog posts – the latest of which was posted Thursday.

Kyle and wife Samantha Busch are expecting their first child in May after undergoing in vitro fertilization, but there were many painful moments hidden from the world while the couple was trying to conceive.

In Samantha's latest entry, she revealed that she nearly leaned into her husband's car on pit road and vomited just before a race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway because of nausea from IVF shots -- this during a time with cameras around and no one knowing what the couple was going through.

"How mad would Kyle be if he had to race with puke in the car for four hours?" she wrote. "Oh no, the crew would be so mad at me because the car goes back to them and I would be so embarrassed. Hmm, could I blame it on Kyle? Would I ruin the car in some way?"

In other posts, Samantha has written about side effects like hair loss and body acne, as well as emotional meltdowns most people would be embarrassed to acknowledge.

Asked if it was difficult for the couple to open up their personal lives in such a detailed fashion, Kyle said "our lives are already exposed."

"It's pretty easy to go down and get a speeding ticket in a 45 mph zone and somebody might not know about it, but then everybody knows about it when you're Kyle Busch," Busch said, referencing his ticket in May 2011 for hitting 128 mph in a 45 mph zone. "It's a pain in the ass to live life like that, so what's not to put the rest of it out there?"

The Buschs, who are due around the time of NASCAR's All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, officially announced the pending birth Oct. 18. Kyle dropped a hint on the baby's sex with a tweet on Thanksgiving: ''BOY oh BOY do we have a lot to be thankful for! (Hint hint) Happy Thanksgiving!''

The point of the blog posts are to encourage other women and couples who are having a hard time conceiving. Kyle and Samantha said they are donating $25,000 to a fund to help others who need IVF treatments.

"I think Samantha has done a great job," Kyle said. "She obviously has a lot of courage. She's a strong woman and she believes in what she wants to do and is saying and writing. She hopes she can help a bunch of other families and women cope with the discouragement of not being able to have a kid right away."

And the response so far has been largely positive, they said, despite Kyle not being a fan favorite.

"It's frustrating in the respect that it is so easy for many other people out there to get pregnant, but for others it's not quite as easy," Kyle said. "Fortunately, we're able to be in the position we're in…and have the financials to do that. And now we'd like to be able to help out with others."
