Must-see book trailers: 'Hell on Heels,' 'Goddess Awakened,' 'Screen Idol'

"Hell on Heels" by Robyn Peterman.

Friends,

This week I have been felled by crud that is going around which might be strep throat (waiting on the doctor to call right now). So what is a girl to do when all her energy is gone? Listen to an amazing audiobook ... or four! The Cole McGinnis series by Rhys Ford has me absolutely captivated. Really — they are all five-star reads (and listens!).

If you read this column, you know that I love it when a soundtrack perfectly complements the story in the trailer and Hell on Heels by Robyn Peterman has a frolicking good, toe-tapping one with just a hit of slapstick to make me smile. The images are fun and bring a smile to your lips as you are drawn into the plot by snappy, amusing word choices. I loved it!

Goddess Awakened by Cate Masters is also driven by the music chosen for the video. The pensive, ethereal tune highlights the paranormal/mythical elements of the story. The images are beautiful and showcase the fact that the heroine is a goddess. I enjoy the way the storyboard brings forth the elements of ancient myth and how they bring a unique twist to the paranormal world.

OK, the trailer for Screen Idol by Elle Rush really grabbed my attention with its unique approach. Set up as a Hollywood Minute-type broadcast, the author gives a few seconds of fast-paced commentary just like they do on those nightly entertainment shows. I found myself smiling and then clicking on the link to read the entire back copy and then one-clicking it onto my Kindle! Well done!
