Mets fans travel to Nationals Park in hopes of rooting Matt Harvey back to normal

The struggles of Mets pitcher Matt Harvey have been a complete enigma this MLB season, but he’ll have plenty of support on Tuesday night.

A Mets fan group, The 7 Line, is traveling to Nationals Park all to cheer the struggling Harvey back to his normal, dominant-pitching self. The 7 Line is dubbing May 24 as “Support Harvey Day” and chartered a bus to Nationals Park for his start against Stephen Strasburg.

I guess we are witnessing a softer side of the Mets fanbase.

Harvey has posted a 5.77 ERA through nine starts this season — a stark drop-off from his 2.71 ERA in 2015. Harvey was given the option to skip Tuesday’s start, but he turned that down, electing to go up against Strasburg for a second straight start.

He’ll have plenty of support — that’s for sure.
