Greg Norman 'lucky' to still have his left hand after chainsaw accident

Two-time major champion Greg Norman shared a photo of himself Saturday night recovering in the hospital after an accident involving a chainsaw.

“Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected. I was one lucky man today. Damaged, but not down & out. Still have left hand.”

Norman said Sunday that he was cutting trees at his home in Florida when the weight of a branch caught the chainsaw and cut his hand just below the wrist.

Via the AP:

“Thank God the blade wasn’t running full speed or it would have taken my hand off,” Norman said. “I handled everything as calmly as I could. There is no major damage. There is nerve damage, but no muscular damage. They fixed me up and here I am.”

Norman posted a photo of himself trimming a tree with a chainsaw last week.

“Time to trim the sea grapes today. Never ask someone to do something that you can do yourself. Love to work!”
