The 'Back to the Future' hoverboard is finally here, if this video is to be believed

25 years ago, Back to the Future Part II introduced arguably the greatest mode of transportation the world had ever seen: the hoverboard. Here’s one look at what it would be like if it was finally a reality thanks to HUVrTech.

And because nothing this cool could actually be true, Mashable found some more evidence that this is, indeed, a hoax.

According to HUVrTech’s website, the if they were true would be incredibly awesome real-life hoverboards began as a MIT physics project in 2010. Tony Hawk, Moby, Terrell Owens and other celebrities met in a Los Angeles parking lot to take the HUVr board for a spin.

The board allegedly autobalances for you, so you can’t fall off. It’s so safe you don’t need to wear a helmet (though Terrell Owens decided to anyway). There will be an app that will allow you to chart a course around town. But before you get excited about this remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
