Only in California? The #DirtBucketChallenge
The #icebucketchallenge doesn't seem right in a state facing a severe drought.
Two California guys say the better way to call someone out for a charitable donation, and save water, is with their "#dirtbucket challenge."
In this YouTube video, the two men -- who say they were called to do the Ice Bucket Challenge by the coach of Sacramento-area Placer High School -- call on their family and friends to dump a bucket of dirt over themselves. Then they demonstrate how to do it.
They ask those accepting the #dirtbucketchallenge or not to give to the ALS Association or Canine Companions for Independence at CCI.Org/Donate #DirtBucketChallenge.
The wetter, colder version of the challenge has been a viral phenomenon, with college friends, family members, celebrities and politicians calling on each other to dump ice-water over their heads, then donate to research to help cure amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease.
