A Mets game is postponed by a sharknado in 'Sharknado 2'

In the forthcoming Syfy original movie Sharknado 2: The Next One, a tornado filled with sharks hits Citi Field, which would probably be the third or fourth worst thing to ever happen at the Mets’ home park.

The much-anticipated sequel to the original Sharknado, Sharknado 2: The Next One again features Hollywood superstars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid in the lead roles. Ian Ziering’s character is named Fin, which is notable because sharks have fins.

As seen in the clip above, the movie also features Mark McGrath, the lead singer of Sugar Ray who maintains that he is not Sugar Ray. Sugar Ray is waiting out a rain delay at the Mets game when Steve Sanders from 90210 arrives to warn him of the fast-approaching sharknado.

Unfortunately, this movie about a tornado filled with sharks is unrealistic. For one thing, Steve Sanders references an overflowing river, but Citi Field is technically located closer to a bay.

Also, Sugar Ray would far more likely be a Yankees fan, because Sugar Ray started out playing funk-metal and is widely known as one of history’s biggest sellouts.

Lastly, another preview clip shows Mets fans sprinting away from Citi Field as the sharknado approaches. But everyone knows that many Mets fans are self-loathing masochists who would appreciate nothing more than to sit idly by as they and the players on their favorite baseball team are devoured by flying sharks.

Sharknado 2: The Next One debuts on Syfy at 9 p.m. ET on July 30.
