Since Percy Harvin was traded to the Jets from Seattle, Eric Decker has been waiting for the moment where he feels comfortable enough to address the giant elephant in the room: Last season’s Super Bowl.

Decker played for the Broncos when they were demolished by Harvin’s former team, the Seahawks, but since he’s arrived Harvin hasn’t felt the need to bring it up — at least yet.

“When he gets more comfortable he might take a couple of jabs, he might bring his ring in,” Decker told For The Win after an event he hosted along with his wife, Jessie, for the launch of the Fall Buffalo David Bitton Collection. “But we haven’t discussed it.”

More from Decker’s conversation with For The Win is below:

I know you’ve always done a lot of endorsements but how much easier is it for you being in New York now to get involved in fashion?

I think being in the city the opportunities are greater … and when you are the face or the ambassador of the company you really feel like you could be hands-on when they’re in your backyard. Obviously with that transition I get to pick and choose who I want to partner up with and Buffalo was a company that really fits my lifestyle and my personality.

What are you and Jessie doing for Halloween?

I don’t know if we have costumes yet but our little girl is going to be a little cowgirl. The Jets put on a nice Halloween party and probably a little trick-or-treating of some form so we’re excited we’ll get to spend our first Halloween with our newborn.

Have any of your teammates talked about what they’re doing for Halloween?

Well I plan on seeing Nick Folk in a Santa costume. Halloween’s on a Friday, we have practice so I’d like to see him in the Santa uniform but we haven’t had that conversation yet. I’m really curious — I can see some guys getting really into it and some guys seeing it as just another day.

Who can you see getting really into it?

I could see 68, our right tackle, I’d like to see Nick Bellore, he’s a linebacker. Who else would be? I could see Jeremy Kerley getting into it. There’s a couple of guys that would definitely go all out.

In Denver you played with Peyton Manning, who at least for the past few years was undoubtedly going to be the starting quarterback. How does the relationship with him compare to the one you have now with Geno Smith or even Michael Vick?

It’s a building process getting to know someone and taking that time to build that relationship. Geno and I are definitely building that relationship and I think the more time we get to spend together off the field and the more time in practice and stuff with that connection it just keeps growing. We’re definitely building upon what we have now and seeing it grow in the future.

What was your reaction when Percy Harvin got traded to the Jets? And how did you find out?

I think I found out through Twitter or social media to be honest. I was excited, he’s definitely a playmaker. I saw firsthand in the Super Bowl what he can do. He’s a very explosive guy and as far as how we’re going to utilize him we need to create more explosive plays and get the ball in his hands, so it’s always nice to have weapons across the board on our offense. That’s what we’re trying to build.

Harvin had a reputation, at least in Seattle, of being temperamental and having trouble fitting in. Are you concerned at all about that?

Not at all concerned. I think you judge a person by your interactions with him and he’s been a great teammate. He’s been just a lot of fun to work with whether it’s in the meeting rooms, whether it’s in the locker room or on the practice field. He’s been just a stand-up guy, so I don’t think that’s an issue and you can’t make assumptions about someone. You have to trust the one-on-one relationship that you build with that person.

What’s the biggest difference between the Denver locker room and the Jets locker room?

Everything about it’s different. Everyone has a unique personality. Everyone brings something different to the table. This has been a great locker room, very comparable to Denver. And right now obviously, (we’ve won) one game out of seven, no guy’s giving up on one another. You can tell a lot about someone when you’re going through a tough time and character of one another. We’re sticking together and it’s been enjoyable to go to work everyday with these guys because we’re battling together.
