Robin Thicke accepts the award for Top R&B Song for 'Blurred Lines' onstage during the 2014 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

When Robin Thicke sang a new song, Get Her Back, at Sundy's Billboard Music Awards, it was an obvious plea to his estranged wife, Paula Patton, for a reunion. It also sparked rumors of a new album.

The rumors are true. His still-untitled album comes out on July 1. All the songs were written and produced by Thicke.

Is Get Her Back the general theme of the album?

Patton has clearly been on his mind. Before his Billboard Music Awards performance, he requested fans to help him win her back. During his acceptance speech for Top R&B Song, he thanks her profusely.

"Most importantly I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support and for putting up with me for all these years," he said. And he's been making public pleas since their split in February. They were married eight years and have a son together.

Does anyone know the reason behind their split in the first place? Must have been a doozy.
