Lost in Los Angeles is sitting on Cloud Nine.

With debut album Love Is Fate on the horizon, the indie-pop rockers are releasing a music video for single Cloud City, premiering at usatoday.com.

Starring models Rosie O'Laskey and Yasmina Rossi, whose characters embark on a spiritual journey across L.A., Cloud City was filmed in the Old Bank District and Malibu over two days. It was directed by photographer Steven Lippman, who worked with lead singer Danny Klein in devising the concept.

"The video is very interpretive, there's a lot of symbolism in it," Klein says. "The best thing a video can do is draw a listener into a song, engage the listener to think more about the lyrics and view the song from a different angle." Although his vocals soar over the dreamy, percussive melody, O'Laskey lip-syncs throughout the video. It can be interpreted as "she is now attached to the song and is adopting the journey that we've written inside of it as her own," he says.

Expected out this summer, Love Is Fate was influenced by artists as varied as Elton John, Depeche Mode and Led Zeppelin, with songs that come from an "authentic place," Klein says. "For me, lyrics come from this combined space of past, present and future; everything's kind of swirling in my head."

Whether fans listen to the album in their cars or out on a run, "they'll find themes of love, hope and humanity" inside its songs.
