Vegan-curious? States that pinned most holiday recipes for special diets
We all know the traditional Thanksgiving spread: roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and other hearty classics made better with butter.
So what happens when you have vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or Paleo diet restrictions? It's time to get creative — and we're not talking tofurkey.
When looking for visually appealing recipes, many flock to Pinterest. In the last two years, more than 100 million pins have been created for recipes with dietary considerations like vegan or Paleo, reports the social photo site.
Since 2012, such recipes have gone from representing 2% of daily recipe pins to 7% of today's daily recipe pins. And unsurprisingly, pins for these special diets all hit double growth spurts during the holidays.

Some top-pinned Thanksgiving recipes include: baked acorn squash, butternut squash and pecans instead of marshmallow (not vegan!) sweet potato casserole, bourbon maple-glazed carrots and gluten-free stuffing.
Aside from being a general national trend, there are certain states who pin more alternative diet recipes than others. Take a look at the top 10 for each:
